Working out is good, but working out with friends is better. Friends can help motivate you on those days that getting out of bed and hitting the gym is the last thing you want to do. And they can encourage you while exercising, too. And whether you’re next to a best friend or a new acquaintance, you’ll find that motivating environment in all of our group fitness classes, so reaching your personal fitness goals will be that much easier. Not to mention, our class schedule can help keep you on your health schedule.
To make your class experience the best it can be, let the instructor know if you’re new, pregnant or have recently sustained an injury. Here are a few more things to help make your group fitness experience great:
- Arrive early to class
- Gather the equipment needed and ensure you are set up properly
- Bring water and a hand towel
- Limit the use of cell phones during class as a courtesy to yourself and other
The group fitness classes at 10 Star Fitness are categorized by three main area of focus: Cardio, Strength & Mind.
Cardio classes are high-intensity workouts that get your heart pumping and blood flowing. They’re designed to help your body burn calories — so expect a lot of sweat.
Mind and Body
This is any class that is designed to minimize stress, build core muscles, develop flexibility, and cater to both the mind and the body.
Strength and Training
This is any class that utilizes weight training in order to build strength, stamina, and increase metabolism.
10 Star Fitness is proud to offer MOSSA®, a branded system of workout programs from the same company that popularized step aerobics in the 90s. Each MOSSA program is carefully designed to deliver a simple, fun and effective workout regardless of gender, age or fitness level. And each has tailored music, including hot current tracks, that’s engineered to motivate you throughout the entire workout. Each of our locations offers Group Power and Group Ride. In addition, our Greenville location offers Group Blast and our Spartanburg facility offers Group Centergy.
Group Power is a high-rep, strength-training workout utilizing an adjustable barbell, weight plates and your own body weight that’s designed to deliver results in a fun — yet challenging — environment. The workout combines traditional strength exercises with functional training moves to make you fitter and stronger.
Inspired by outdoor cycling, Group Ride is a great way to improve your cardio fitness, burn calories, shape and strengthen your lower body and have a little fun in the process. Because you control the intensity of the workout by adjusting your own bike, it’s a great workout for all ages and fitness levels.
An energetic cardio workout that utilizes The STEP, Group Blast is a great alternative to walking, running or stair climbing. The fun and intense workout includes jogging, jumping, balancing, plyometrics, balance drills, lateral drills, and quickness drills — all set to energetic music. And because The STEP can be adjusted, the class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
By combining the fundamentals of yoga and pilates, Group Centergy helps improve balance, mobility, flexibility and strength, centering your energy in the process. It’s perfect as your main workout, but it can also be incorporated into any other workouts on a weekly basis to reinvigorate your mind and body.
Weather & Holiday Policy
In cases of inclement weather, all Group Fitness classes changes and cancellations will announced on on your specific locations calendar.
- Cancellations for morning classes will be posted by 9 PM the evening prior to the locations calendar.
- Cancellations for the evening classes will be posted by 3 PM to the locations calendar.
- Make it easy on your smart phone. Add a shortcut to your locations calendar to you home-screen.
KIDS CLUB will follow the same policy listed above for closings and/or delays.
